We host field meetings in many parts of Scotland, often jointly with other botanical groups. Beginners are very welcome.

Sign up via this calendar. If an event shows as FULL, you can sign up anyway and your name will go on the waiting list. Then, if a place later becomes available, you will be contacted. If you’d like to organise a field meeting, please use the contacts page to let us know and we’ll get back to you.

Information:

Members and guests attend meetings at their own risk. We follow a strict code of conduct (See Code of conduct for field excursions). Please check with the programme secretary whether the site is suitable for children or dogs. Risk Assessments for each successive field meeting will be available on the BSS website a week before the event. Please bring a packed lunch and water to drink for all-day meetings. Warm waterproof clothing and grippy footwear are always needed.
