Student Event: Bryophyte Workshop (28th September)
Welcome back to the start of a new academic year!
Our next student event will be a fantastic workshop all about bryophytes, organised by our very own David Chamberlain. It will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about mosses, hornworts, and liverworts, including having a go at identifying them by examining them under the microscopes.
Following on from this, there will also be an informal walk along the Water of Leith to look at bryophyte characteristics in a field setting!
This workshop will take place on Saturday 28th September, from 11am until about 4pm, at the Water of Leith Conservation Centre (24 Lanark Road, Edinburgh, EH14 1TQ). This can be accessed via the number 34 and 44 bus routes.
The café at the centre offers hot and soft drinks as well as some snacks, but we recommend you bring your own packed lunch.
Spaces at the workshop are limited, so please get in contact if you would like to attend. You can do this by replying to the post on the BSS student Instagram (@botsocscot), or by sending an email to the student representative at BSS-Students@botsoc.scot
We look forward to seeing you at this excellent event!
